Swearing in ceremony of 28 governors in Juba, 29 Dec 2015

February 29, 2016 (SSB)  —  The community of Lol State in, Nairobi, Kenya, formed their own community apart from the former Aweil Community as resulted from the presidential decree on 24-12-2015, which turned the ten states to 28 states.

As matter of fact, the creation of more states brought the changes within the Republic of South Sudan and outside South Sudan especially the communities which were formed for the sake of unity, education and other different purposes in wherever they are as South Sudanese communities in abroad.

Corruption

April Fool? The 6 millions is not stolen; rather it has been successfully recovered from the real thief.

February 29, 2016 (SSB) — South Sudan is becoming a country without deliberate future generation being headed by typical liabilities holding public offices with aim of promoting theft cases. The outrageous financial thefts in Kiir’s office is proved as extraordinary culture by his subordinates, and have endlessly stealing money given to students from various countries represented by South Sudanese Students’ Union. The leading delegations were from Kampala-Uganda and the Republic of Kenya-Nairobi, the said teams were tasked to go and lobby for funds in South Sudan.

war

February 29, 2016 (SSB)  —  A lot of precious lives have been lost as a result of inter communal or inter clans conflicts in different part of the present day Tonj state starting from 2003 until today. The culture of killing and reprisal attacks usually triggered by cases of elopements and pregnancies   among others had never ceased in Tonj. People in Tonj continued to die in their thousands but no government seems to care for their death.

THE EASED AFRICA I WANT

But before you munch through this literary food of mind, today being a Sunday, with the coincidence of Arsenal FC playing Manchester United, this comment just caught my eye there in:

KIBAKIMAN: “I am talking about Southern Sudanese. They just can’t stop themselves. They fight for independence, thousands die in the struggle, millions are displaced, tens of thousands starved, they win, they celebrate, the world world wishes them well. And then what? Do they settle down and enjoy their fruits of victory? They don’t! Do they look after their cattle, tend their fields, send their children to school, see them grow up and prosper, watch Arsenal play Manchester United on a television on a Sunday like the rest of us in Africa do? No, they do not. They fight, and die, and divide civilians from their homes, and rape, and maim, and return their country to the…

February 28, 2016 (SSB) —-  These days the BBC radio is starting a new programme titled “my perfect country.” I hope that the leaders of this imperiled country of ours gather little humility to hold pen and paper and follow that programme. Since there no such thing as perfection in nation-building, the name chosen for the programme is thought provoking, keeping the best political scientists in our continent guessing on what arguments they are up to encounter. Cynics among them may have already branded the whole programme as yet another attempt by the western world to make us feel inferior and failed states.

On my part, I could hazard a guess that the programme’s content would include both elements of highlighting success stories, especially in Europe, America, and South East Asia, and branding the rest of us (Africa, Latin America, the Far and Middle East) as big territories which are synonymous with failure. Territories where the presidential term limits agenda is being confused and lumped together with the usual ‘western agenda’ suspects such as god governance, corruption, as-well-as observance, protection and promotion of human rights, including gay rights, which according to the ultra-defensive lot of us are malicious.

February 28, 2016 (SSB) —-  History has it that South Sudan under the current totalitarian regime has witnessed untold brutality ensuing from tyrannical, dictatorial, autocracy, authoritative and iron fist rule since 2005 when the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) was signed. In lieu of the worst history, the corrupt mentality has never changed and it will never change to a developmental mentality. Hence, the continuity of crisis across the country summing up to crimes against humanity and massacres among others committed along the line of ethnicities.

February 28, 2016 (SSB)  —  It has been said that it’s easy to be cheated by others when you are honest in your country politics. SPLM/A is the ruling party in the country but its political party which had killed most people in the country for a long time due to disputes that used to happens between SPLM Leaders with in ruling party. Political party is a group of people who organized to win elections operate the government and determine public policy. Interest group is the group of people who share common goals and who actively try to influence policymakers. We shall see both groups serve purpose in our government and at that.

Forgiveness does not mean somebody is right, you are wrong nor the person who wrongs you is strong and you are weak, when you exercised role of forgiveness! It is a condition to be fulfilled for ones welfare on Earthly live and requires qualifications for eternal life, although you don’t believed eternal life the way I believed it. The Lord’s Prayer constituted condition of how we can forgive others so that our Heavenly Father forgives us our sins, and by the way sin is anything against law or say lawlessness.

Bishop Nathaniel Garang Anyieth: The Spiritual Leader of our Time

February 28, 2016 (SSB)  —-  To begin with forgiveness, I just want deal with issues of forgiveness, politics nowadays distorting human peace/public peace, human security, unity, and harmony among world societies. All over the globe, forms of terrorism, violent, food security, and wars have been threatening human freedom, human rights, human dignity, rule of law, and human peace entirely. Rights of individuals within human rights rules and regulations are being used contrary with dishonest, and disgrace of others rights, but forgiveness still championing the environment of peace to prevail among human societies.

Am one hundred percent sure of South Sudanese kind of forgiveness faces challenges of its own mind in South Sudan. I mean true forgiveness, peace, healing, counseling and reconciliation never took place in South Sudan where thousands of victims in societies perseveres dangerous wounds for the lost of their dear ones, but before I mention the roles of forgiveness, peace, healing, counseling and reconciliation, let me give readers right examples of how forgiveness never at all met its role, before and after South Sudan independence in 2011.

Democracy and term limits in developing world: A look at Africa through the shades of Uganda’s recent elections.

By Aleu Mabil, Malaysia

museveni's quote on leadership

February 27, 2016 (SSB)  —  Whereas democracy as a concept has spread to almost all corners of the world, it continues to develop and have different forms in different countries. Even autocracies, oligarchies, theocracies and monarchies claim to subscribe to the same principles upheld by democracies such as transfer of power with the support of the majority of the citizenry. ‘Majority of the people’ is the key phrase to democracy. The West, the proclaimed champion of democracy, tries to market the concept packaged along with their ideologies and cultures. In the importing nations, the package is received with mixed feelings. In most cases, it’s a copy-paste in theory, a look-alike in connived practice yet largely ill-formed in reality. This is where the debate of term limit comes in and thence arises the question; are the term limits really useful or irrelevant and in what number or is there a better form to term limit than the usual two-terms or are there other better alternatives altogether? Let’s take a look.

“Peace will bless us once more with hearing the happy giggling of children and the enchanting ululation of women who are excited in happiness for one reason or another.” – Dr. John Garang at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi, January 9, 2005.

February 27, 2016 (SSB)  —  When the peace-loving people appreciated President Salva Kiir Mayardit for issuing the Republican Decree No.60/2016 on Thursday February 11, 2016 to appoint Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon as the First Vice President (FVP) of the Republic of South Sudan, caution for delaying the celebration of the announcement was recommended until the major hurdles get resolved.

Now we have seen that the Government of the Republic of South Sudan (GRSS) has finally resolved the hurdles via external pressure by redeployed the unauthorized forces from Juba as agreed though it might not be all of them at once.

The newly appointed governor of Jonglei state, Col. Philip Agwer Panyang, with Defense Minister Gen. Kuol Manyang Juuk and Information Minister Michael Makwei Lueth in Bor, Jonglei state

February 26, 2016 (SSB)  —-  Since a very early age, I like to complain about stuff. Now as an adult, I do that even more in most political discourses. Time and again, it has made me a hate figure among some fringe groups, but I am sure that among many, they tend to understand my agitations. Mines are not just blind complains. Not so long ago, I did put out an article complaining about the suggestion superciliously carried out by members within the Jonglei leadership (Borawis being the chair leaders) that after the tenureship of Philip Thon from Duk county and Kuol Manyang from Bor county as governors, then it is time for someone from Twi East county to take over.   After the short list was finally revealed, a man who I respect so much looked to be the likely winner, albeit, against my will especially because of the manner in which the whole process was conducted.

What was the formula used to create the 8 counties of Aweil East State?

taking town to the village???

February 26, 2016 (SSB) —-  Aweil East State is one of the 28 states that was created as a result of the presidential decree on the establishment order in October 2nd in the year 2015. It was initially a county with 8 payams under the then Northern Bhar el Ghazal state. It happened to be curved out as a state on its own regardless of being one county when the rest of the other counties were combined to make a state each. The logic behind this was the huge population and the vastness of land that it has and for other obvious reasons, it is the home county to our current Chief of general staff. It is not so surprising also, because it is bigger than Twic and Gok counties which are now states.

We, the citizens of Jonglei, ought to give our governor and entire governments a blessing so that they can start governing with energy. It is unfair to heap unfounded criticisms on the man.

Hon. Philip Aguer, the governor, was unanimously elected by his County. President Kiir Mayardit later respects people choice by endorsing him. So please, spare the man. Hon. Philip is a man of the people. His recent announcement of his government deserves respect and appreciations.
