The Russian made Antonov B-12 cargo plane, registration number EY-406, was 44 years old when it crashed within a minute after take-off from Juba International Airport on Wednesday. This is a national tragedy. There are many lessons to learn from this disaster.

First of all, it was a cargo plane and only a maximum of twenty passengers were expected to be onboard. The five Armenians and one Russian crew members reportedly told air traffic control tower that there were 12 passengers – summing the number of people onboard to eighteen (18), according to Stephen Warikozi, the chief executive officer for the South Sudan’s civil aviation authority.

November 4, 2015 (SSB)  —  MTN, ‘everywhere you go’ is now MTN, ‘everywhere it goes, it offends.’

Have you noticed that MTN South Sudan is now the most expensive network in the country? It’s billing is the highest in the country. A day ago or two ago, friend asked me why I keep MTN simcard and not the others. He asserted that MTN “eats Money Like locust.”

The knowledge we have is that MTN is a South African telecommunication company founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Johannesburg. It operates in 20 other African countries including Nigeria.

Last month MTN slapped with a record fine of $5.20 billion by Nigerian government. The reason was that MTN Nigeria failed to deactivate unregistered numbers as directed by the government.

November 4, 2015 (SSB)  —  In the wake of October 30, 2015, I happened to be  guest of honour in a function organised by Parieng and Panaruu communities of Ruweng State.

The function was marking the concurrent launching of an Organisation formed by youth in response to emerging trends enforced by oil production in the area. The organisation has brilliant objectives that if well implemented shall produce positive results nationwide.

The organisation so formed is called Inspired Panaruu Youth for Development and the core principles with which its pillars are centered aim at enhancing environment protection as a local initiative after realizing the adverse and deleterious effects enforced by the remains or byproducts of oil being produced in many areas including the territories of Parieng and Abiemnom.

Dear Aguer Atem Deng,

November 4, 2015 (SSB)  —  I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for the heartfelt message you shared in your recent video. I can honestly say that as you brought up certain facts regarding the suffering of our people, I was overwhelmed. At such a young age, you have proven to be a well-informed, smart, and concerned citizen of South Sudan. Your inspirational words make me very proud of you, and proud to be a citizen of South Sudan.

The information you have offered gives me hope for you and for the next generation as a whole. You spoke confidently and articulately when you said, “I want our country to be next big thing.” But more than that, you went on to describe what you want our future country to be like. Your vision for our country is ambitious and powerful—to be like the United States and the United Kingdom—and that vision left me speechless.

Just like you, I would like our country to be “the next big thing,” but it is up to our leaders to work as a team, as you very well said, for them to accomplish something. The only way that the South Sudanese can find peace this time is to embrace that sense of teamwork. As you help to spread this message, you are helping us work towards that goal.

November 4, 2015 (SSB)  —-  South Sudan is one of blessed nation with several natural resources. It is rich more than Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. With my own analysis, most of South Sudanese will disagree with me about these analyses. But in a real sense, they are facts because the mentioned countries have Oil, Silver and Gold as their main national resource unlike to South Sudan which has numerous resources such as fertile land for Agriculture with plenty of rain falls, Oil as the main national resource as well there is gold, silver, uranium, copper, zinc, cement, rocks and the list is long.

Nevertheless, should it happen that Jesus Christ wanted to come on earth for the second judgment prophesies in the Bible to destroy the world and he sees Dubai with Abu- Kaliffa building, the smartest and most world’s tallest building, or he may see Abu Dhabi, or one of the cities of the few mentioned nations, then he could definitely get please and compromises his decision to destroy the world because of the beauty of the those cities but not of the bush cities like Juba. Hence, the cities mentioned just got develop because they have oil as main source of their economies. Significantly, those countries are enjoying political and economic stability. There are no thefts, no human crimes in Dubai unlike to South Sudan with rich resources. There are no robberies unlike to juba’s daylight robberies.
