pray for peace in south sudan

May 1, 2016 (SSB) — I take this opportunity first and foremost to congratulate the collegial Presidency on the formation of TGONU in the Republic of South Sudan. South Sudan is destroyed in its entirety. The basic infrastructures put in place during the interim period and two years of independence have all been devastated. Your languages during the oath-taking ceremony were reconciliatory. Yes, it is time to reconcile and heal the wounds we had inflicted in ourselves. It is also high time to revive out economy and improve the security situation.

During the war, Your Excellency, some people exploited our suffering by enriching themselves. The whole scenario has been about how much money to get. The rate of nepotism and tribalism in the employment is very high. The professionals have been denied chances of continuous education by some heartless and selfish big shots in the government. Their charges are that because they refused to follow the filthy teachings. The notion of nation building is brushed aside. Many children have gone and laden the streets of Juba because their parents cannot afford to sustain them.

May 1, 2016 (SSB) —  During the last seven weeks I have been trying to address issues, which I believe have contributed in creating a downward spiral social situation in S. Sudan as well as in Diaspora.  These issues which are the topics of my articles.  They are: the saying that ‘Jieng people are: ‘The Foolish Majority’, ‘Jieng are Cow-headed People’, Land Grabbing, ‘Born to Rule’, ‘We Liberated You!’, and ‘Jieng council of evil!’  These issues we have created act like virus in our subconscious.  When they influence what we do and what we say, we find it difficult for us to form positive working relationships.  Lack of trust and love deprive us from having a sense of community and of nationhood.  Our people think they have a country to themselves, yet if they cannot travel anywhere they want within S. Sudan without fear of being persecution, if they cannot build their livelihood and avoid being forced into refugee camps or forced to take refuge in neighbouring countries, what does liberation mean to them?  Let us work together to get rid of any virus.

new cabinet of TGoNU

new cabinet of TGoNU

May 1, 2016 (SSB)  —-  The appointment of Hon. Dak Duop Bichiok as the Minister of Petroleum has created a social media war between the supporters of Ezekiel Lol and Hon. Dak Dup. Lol’s supporters argued that he should have been the one appointed as a Minister of Petroleum to represent Jikany of SPLM-IO.

The supporters of Ezekiel Lol do not want to tell us why he is better than Dak Dup to represent Jikany of SPLM-IO. Any politically mature South Sudanese would agree with me that Dak Dup has executive and Leadership skills that Ezekiel Lol doesn’t have. Dak Dup was a Governor for eight years and a Minister for three years. His executive experience is unquestionable.
