Paanluelwel, this malodorous article really does not merit a stay on this website. It is an example of unverified yellow journalism, and I am surprised you decided to post it here. Just looking at the smutty stories in that section of the Standard makes one wonder why you so easily believe what is written. A girl called ‘Marial’??!!! WT*…? Furthermore, are Kenyan shillings more valuable than SS pounds that our ladies resort to street walking in Nairobi, of all places???!!!

I suggest that instead of giving it mileage by putting it on your website where every click means that it remains on the list of most popular stories, why don’t you do a bit of investigative journalism yourself and see if this is true. After that you can publish your findings. And keep this article.

We South Sudanese women are tired of being defamed. I wish the SS male would stand up and proudly defend us instead of helping others stomp on us. Don’t be one of them.

    Peace!

    • Hello Yin ce Nyanbot, I concur with you that the link to the article might come across as demeaning to our sisters in RSS. I therefore agree with your suggestion that a follow up investigative report need to be conducted to verify the story. I hereby suggest that since the idea is great and yours, you might be the right person to debunk this “malodorous article.” As for why it is on this site, we cover relevant issues about our country/people and we find it (cultural decadence, if verified) to be a topical issue, worth our space. Cheers!!

Thanx for your swift reply my brother. Unfortunately I do not reside in Kenya and am not likely to do so in the near future.

My biased view is to disbelieve the article. Meanwhile, I will keep holding my nose until relief comes … lol

Coz I started commenting for the first time in reply to Tearz Ayuen’s ‘Dearest Lost Boy’ where he refers to ‘Nyanbots’.

Besides, I do not think I have the traditional requirements of a Nyanbot.

  5. I see, though I guess nyanbot is any lady beautiful enough–in the eyez of the beholder, of course–to fetch ‘bot’ weng/weu in the brideprice market. If that view stands, then I think the ‘requirement’ is hard to quantify to determine who is/isn’t nyanbot, Tearz Ayuen’s standardization notwithstanding. My opinion.

First, allow me to disapprove this article by the tabloid, “The Nairobian”. I am a Kenyan journalist and two months ago, i did an investigative oiece on drugs sale on the streets. As expected, i met and spoke to hundreds of prostitutes. I can assure you i never met a Southern Sudanese woman whatsoever. Again, the photo appearing on “The nairobian” is not a Southern Sudanese woman. Prove me wrong!!!!

I really strongly agree with our sisters living in east African countries. I’m in Kampala Uganda, but its really hard to get a S Sudanese girl in the streets of Kampala begging or requesting for money for sex. I’m really proud of them and urge them to continue with the spirit and keep their diginity in order to be a good mothers for the young generation of S Sudan. Sometime it’s true that one frog can spoil or conterminate the water, but that shouldn’t discourage you my sisters. We love and like you girls only that some few S Sudanese girls have started bleaching their beautiful natural organic skin to artificial light skin which many people associate it to prostitutions when your body has brown or pink instead of black when you are not a white lady. So be firm and bold because we know you girls. Thanks.
