Opening ceremony: ministry of Communication

Our State South Sudan  is one of the nations internationally recognized  by  various global organizations in three years back.Having the country like South Sudan which the central government is mandated and publicly accepted  by her citizens is more important than any other  thing.Citizens doesn’t only feel proud of having centralized government but they first love the sovereignty of their nation which whole world called now Republic  of  South Sudan after long waited Referendum fulfilled by people the South Sudanese citizens in 2011 when majority of civil population voted for separation.

How hopes of citizens were not only failed but regrettably destroyed by Juba Elites
Who are Juba Elites ?

Juba  elites  are  a small group of people who  are/were controlling  a disproportionate amount of wealth and  political power since 2005 to the date of their  outdated political disagreement which resulted into bloodshed  in modern world of peaceful settlement of problems.

they are/were selective groups who run the government of South Sudan  friendly  and favorably since the transitional interim government but unexpectedly they challenged each other, criticized themselves for the total failure of the ruling party SPLM and forgotten that the citizens knew their good and poor  performances in government  from the date they assumed the positions.

Elites of Juba thought they are /were more clever enough to corrupt the system, embezzled the public funds and failed to implement the urgent basic human needs  and at the same time instead to sit down as top government officials and advise themselves to stop misappropriation of the country ‘s resources and build for us a modern nation South Sudan because no one among them is  poor compare to  others they just  went out  barely and publicly to challenge  themselves and tell the total failure of country without knowing that the poor civil population  in this country alright knew how they are being failed by them {Juba Elites} but they poor civilians kept silent for having no an alternative to Juba government of selective politicians.

So elitism of Juba government  ‘s top politicians was not their intelligence but luckiness to met as a true friends who can never and will never make an accountability to themselves despite of how too much they are corrupting the government provide that  they are in the system and practicing  the similar scandal.

That is what happened to them not intelligence nor an interests of South Sudanese citizens to leave their country being mishandled to the extend of  high corruption  but it was their time {Juba Elites}  to do what they expect not what  citizens expects to be down by the politicians who loves their people and State.

Internal division of Juba Elites.
As the common saying put it,  politic is a dirty game. which  had misinterpret rated itself since an emerge of  an earlier political theories. So   I think it is not the case  here in politics of  modern world. the theory that says politics is a dirty game is more to be contradicted in nation of learn t politicians and people. Then for the case of Juba Elites politics, how the politic came really to its common saying as a dirty game . Despite that the theory of politics being  a dirty game was rejected by young people who made independent and accurate research about politics. But majority of people  agreed when  Juba Elites divided themselves into groups mainly  Gen. Salva Kiir his group and Dr. Riak Machar his group.
The division came surprising and sharply when the two leaders presented their ambition for the chairmanship of the ruling party SPLM for the 2015 elections. the top politicians of SPLM disagreed in an appointment of the party ‘s chairperson to compete with main opposition leaders. The politics they  played in SPLM  for election ticket revealed to many people  that politics is a dirty game. Giving more questions to people of how Gen. Salva Kiir fell out with his long time true friends in SPLM who can never disagreed with him in any circumstances If it was not a believe  theory of politics being  a dirty game trying to happen and show itself in Africa ‘s youngest nation which truely  engulfed our country into bloody  civil war.
No more debate, politics is a true dirty game If it is ill-played based on what happened to our nation South Sudan. The  current crises facing the innocent people who doesn’t know anything in politics is not only  horrible but painful leaving  blame always on top politicians who carelessly enforced the experienced war to poor people. This war is  not only destructive, divisive but continuously is implementing unshaken  hatred between the Jieng and Nuer  If there will be no sincere sensitization of Nuer and Jieng ‘s civil populations about their closeness and relativity and their  none  business on Kiir and Riak ‘s heedless  war by rejecting unhelpful orientations.
later when almighty  God make it,  bring a comprehensive peace among the misled communities to understand the position they are supposed to take in any political disorientation, the government has to take necessary measures in reconstruction and transformation of the societies  by educating them well  not to make any mistake again to back up the politicians who doesn’t need the enjoyment  of  stability of  country. This is time for poor people to take their children to school instead to be misused in any situation  created by those who want to come to power or maintain their positions. It is an essential and has to be considered seriously by victims.
Problems needs political settlement to end the senseless war
It would be better for two leaders of two groups the warring parties to sit down and honestly convince themselves on how to bring lasting peace to country.. They have to reconsider the suffering of civilians as currently the innocent are displaced from their homes and forced to homeless. Dialogue is a solution to grievances and political differences.
If both leaders really loves and cares for people, then they have to give peace chance and forget interests they are pursuing.

One People, One Nation

By David Aoloch Bion

Love your neighbour as you love yourself
The Lord says
But we love our land more than ourselves
Our neighbours
And that is why
We voluntarily sacrificed,
Willingly died in million as martyrs

We love our land more than ourselves and
Our neighbours that is why
We sank deed in the Ocean of Debauchery
Turned our barrels against ourselves
Betrayed, sold our just cause for rewards of
Empty glories;
Glories as hollow as reed
Bitten one another‘s ear to suck a base gain
Gain as stink as carrion

We love our land more than ourselves
And our neighbours that is why
We come to gather today to reunion as
One People, one Nation, one God
By God‘s will and willing,
We forgive one another
And have forgiven one another
Forget past history of killings and counter killings
Draw up mutual roadmap for development to catch up
With developed and free world

Bishop Deng Bul (in red), praying with President Kiir and Dr. Riek Machar, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Bishop Deng Bul (in red), praying with President Kiir and Dr. Riek Machar, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Daniel Deng Bul was appointed in April 2013, with Republican Decree by President Kiir, as South Sudan Healing, Peace and National Reconciliation Committee’s Chairperson. Deputized by South Sudan admired Bishop Paride Taban. The National Reconciliation Committee under Daniel Deng Bul was given a tremendous task to reconcile South Sudanese people. To relief the twenty one years (21) war trauma which might have had affected and twisted the thinking of certain elements in different communities across South Sudan. Daniel Deng Bul, three years before this similar task but in a state level, had been once sequentially or simultaneously mediating Peace between George Athor and GoSS, among the Murle, Lou Nuer and Bor Dinka as well as between David Yau Yau and GRSS.

Primarily, all these peace mediations were, under the auspice of Daniel Deng Bul, in Jonglei state level started right from mid-2010 to 2012. However, Daniel Deng Bul basically failed to initiate even anything that could be seen related to peace among Jonglei state communities. He reconciled neither Geoge Athor Deng and GRSS, ethnic conflicting groups(Murle, Lou Nuer & Bor Dinka) by the time nor GRSS and South Sudan Democratic Movement SSDM/A—Cobra Faction of David Yau Yau. Therefore, a question which this piece aim to establish is: Can Daniel Deng Bul who basically failed in a state level, succeed to bring peace in a national level? Which one is more complicated, state or national task? Is there anybody optimistic that Deng Bul will ever succeeded in reconciling South Sudanese people? It happens but seldom, for a person who failed to solve a family-like issue to succeed in a broadest one in a national level. This is one thing to note.

In the same token, is Daniel Deng Bul among the personalities who do succeed in bringing peace? What are the criteria always needed of a person to be appointed as a Mediator? Can anybody tell me those characteristics? How to bring peace and reconciliation among ethnical, politically divided society like South Sudanese, isn’t simple. Is it?

Look when Daniel Deng Bul was sworn into office and set to leave Juba for Jonglei in order to reconcile the aforementioned communities. He immediately started the work as soon as he could reach the state. Initially, Deng Bul in the state called for an inclusive conference, he said. Unfortunately, the people who were present in that meeting held in Bor, intended by Deng Bul, were all from one side of the conflict. The inhabitants of Bor County. Other groups were excluded from the conference. As they were in Pibor uniformed and other remote places in the far east of the state. In that conference the excluded communities were termed criminals, destroyers and given stereotype names by the organizers.

The same became also the case in GRSS and SSDM/A- Cobra Faction peace process under the Chairmanship of Deng Bul himself. Perhaps because of his deeds, Daniel Deng was seen partial throughout. That might be the reason why he failed to mediate peace in Jongle state. Words and statements like, “The Murle, Lou Nuer are the cause of insecurity in the state, they are the ones who raid cattle, loot other people’s properties and David Yau Yau is a criminal who could be burn alive if found, compared to Dinka Bor who are peaceful”. Again Daniel Deng was quoted as saying “David Yau Yau was a notorious and criminal who killed people in disguise of democracy”.

Conference that meant to include all sides to the conflicts concentrated only on two sides if not one. The Murle in Pibor and other communities couldn’t be involved, as you the readers read earlier on. The author is not an expert in peace, conflicts and resolution but he doesn’t believe that such divisive statements from a mediating body could welded wounds.  As result, there came a lots of questions from the excluded sides.

Which, automatically, led to a premature failure of Jonglei state peace process under Daniel Deng Bul. That is to say, Daniel Deng failed in mediated peace between the GOSS and George Athor, among the Murle, Lou-Nuer, Bor Dinka traditional conflicts and that of GRSS and SSDM/A- Cobra Faction of David Yau Yau.

There was only a breakthrough in Jonglei state when Bishop Paride Taban was tasked to take over from Deng Bul and mediated peace between the GRSS and SSDM/A- Cobra Faction of Yau Yau. An admired Bishop, Paride Taban, who really experienced in how two or more conflicting sides are mediated. Globally, Bishop Taban was in early 2013 won UN Peace Award. Indeed, Paride Taban when took the job over from Deng Bul he truly brokered a fruitful peace between the GRSS and SSDM/A-Cobra Faction. We have now GRSS and SSDM/A-Cobra Faction peace Agreement signed in Addis Ababa, brought by Bishop Paride Taban. The later did not periled the issues around the solution to that problem. Otherwise there would have been no agreement today called SSDM/A-GRSS of GPAA.

Let’s return to South Sudan Healing, Peace and National Reconciliation Committee’s role. Daniel Deng Bul was tasked to reconcile South Sudanese people before this current turmoil could erupted. Did Daniel Deng Bul’s Committee bring to an end communal conflicts in Lakes state? I think the Committee didn’t make any progress. Only the similar divisive statements were instead attributed to the Committee’s leadership. Take for example, a political prayer delivered in a Parliament last year by a certain Archbishop. Amid the then SPLM creating National crisis: “In which Almighty God was asked by that certain Archbishop to take the life of anybody who wanted to challenge Salva Kiir in a SPLM‘s Chairmanship.”

It was being repeated in several occasions in Juba. Are these the prayers that can help reconcile the people of South Sudan? How do you see it now? I mean the work of Daniel Deng’s Committee. Hasn’t it process been paralyzed? Apart from those examples, where is an independency they claim? There is no independency seen nation-wide. Independency never means I should organize a one sided conference. Yes I can organize it there but also in the other place, where it’s necessitate.

Also, independency never means organizing just prayers in the Churches. Do the audiences take your points in that Churches you preach in?  Do that words touch and find what is in the hearts of grassroots. Independency doesn’t imply to hold meeting in a Freedom Hall in Juba city and say you’re reconciling the nations. For instance, have you ever held a peace conference in Kajo-Keji, Maridi, Renk and Raga? Leaving the most internal conflict-affected people of Lakes State wondering about what kind of reconciliation you might be doing there in your own local language.

Independency never means you ethnically distort perspectives in context. Independency means not to say by yourself that you’re independent of your associated belief, politicians or whatever might be seen an obstacle to peace. Succeeding in bringing peace to the nation isn’t something one can just wish for. Rather it is something you’re characterized practically. Something you do, something you are, and something you talk impartially. As Bishop Paride Taban does and other Churches leaders. To engage in conflicts, you need not to buy a knife that cuts but a needle that sews. Healing and Reconciliation is to understand both sides.

And it should, however, be a must for those sides involved to have confidences in you. If you cannot access all sides to the conflicts 24 hours, then you’re reconciling who with who? Or they might have lost confidences in you. Alas, you will have no chance to go to one side, describe the suffering being endured by the other side and produce solution or way forward. And then go to other side doing the former and the latter repeatedly, which is the basic step of making successful peace and reconciliation. If that one cannot happen to you then you won’t taste the solution or fulfill this step. It must be worth for you to resign. Give the responsibility to next colleague to have a try.

Lastly, not the least, I would hope that South Sudanese people have convinced that talks between GoSS and George Athor—Movement have failed. Jonglei state Communal peace imitative among the Murle, Bor Dinka and Lou- Nuer Communities was failed. Moreover, the talks between SSDM/A of David Yau Yau and GRSS have also failed at the end of 2012. All these three mediations made by Daniel Deng Bul were prematurely failed in Jonglei state level. But became successful when Bishop Paride Taban had stepped in.

In the same way, Daniel Deng Bul has already failed in the national level. He cannot succeed in bringing Reconciliation to South Sudanese people whatsoever much more time he can be awarded. For, his leadership lacks reconciliatory attitudes required in mediation. Keeping Daniel Deng Bul as Peace, Healing and National Reconciliation Committee’s Chairperson is tantamount to telling South Sudanese people that don’t reconcile.

Therefore, the Responsibility of reconciling the nation, if we’re really in need of reconciliation, should be handed over to our well-regarded Bishop, Paride Taban. Bishop Paride Taban is one of the most South Sudanese potential Religious Leaders to reconcile South Sudanese without one, two three. President Kiir should decree into National Reconciliation top office, Bishop Paride Taban. Let Bishop Taban take his overdue precise job!

SPLA Completed Mopping-up Operation Near Nasir Town

For Immediate Release

July, 21, 2014

Gordon Buay with President Kiir, December 2010, in Canada

Gordon Buay with President Kiir, December 2010, in Canada

The SPLA forces launched a mopping-up operation on Monday morning by attacking the rebel-terrorists who assembled at Ketbek (2 km from Nasir town). After they were chased out of Nasir on Sunday, the rebels moved to Ketbek hoping to attack the town again. However, the SPLA Mechanized Platoon, supported by two helicopter gunships, attacked the rebels at 9 am and flushed them out of Ketbek. The SPLA inflicted heavy casualties and captured 10 PKM rifles, two 12.5, and 20 AK-47s. The SPLA forces counted 75 dead bodies of rebels at Ketbek.

The Government of South Sudan is very saddened for the loss of young kids deceived by Riek Machar to fight the SPLA forces that are equipped with tanks and helicopter gunships. The fighting in Nasir is the most deadly one since Riek Machar declared himself as a rebel leader last year to topple a democratically elected Government. Within two days of fighting in Nasir, the White Army lost over 1,300 kids who should have been in school. This is a great loss to the Nuer in particular and the people of South Sudan in general. Most of the White Army who are now dying are between the ages of 14 and 18. These kids are the future of South Sudan but Riek Machar is killing them for his own parochial political ambition.

The Government of South Sudan is appealing to Jikany Nuer to save their children from Riek Machar. The number of the White Army killed in Nasir within two days is seven times greater than the number killed in Malakal fighting from December, 2013 to May, 2014. The commander of SPLA forces in Nasir shed tears when he saw the dead bodies of 14 years old kids who are supposed to be in school.

Riek Machar is an evil incarnate who wants to finish the Nuer younger generation. The Nuer intellectuals, elders and chiefs need to sit down to save their tribe from somebody like Riek Machar. The people of South Sudan are mourning the deaths of young Nuer kids deceived by the vicar of Ngundeng. What Riek Machar is doing to Nuer is a crime against humanity.

As a Government, we are appealing to Nuer to save their community from Riek Machar. The death toll of the White Army in Nasir from July, 20—21 is unfathomable and peace-loving South Sudanese are crying why Riek Machar is killing Nuer kids because of a political power. The Nuer must stop Riek Machar from killing their kids. Stopping Riek Machar is a collective effort of the Nuer to save their community.

Mabioor de Garang with Riek Machar in the bush

Dear brother Mabior Garang De Mabior,

Its my hope that you’re doing great wherever you are now. And may you stay bless in wherever you’re.

Its clear that you’re with rebels now. And its clear that you’re against Kiir and its government, the government you ,your boss (Riek) and supporters are allegedly accusing of dictatorship, failure, illiteracy and many that I could count for a whole day. And that’s the reason you,Riek and your supporters are asking for federalism now,the federalism that you have no idea of it’s results in the near future, the federalism that will not even favour your own State, county, payam and community that you came from in terms of country’s natural resources or country’s income.

Many of your supporters who encouraged you in your letter, articles always start it off by pointing out a few good things that you’re fighting for and suddenly switch, explaining what they’re supporting you for. Those are the ones who always want to prove themselves that they’re failures. Others even supports your awful articles you writes against the GOSS. Such group is mainly composed of beggars, flatterers. (Tearz Ayuën) called them sycophants, generally. And I called them in dinka language ‘Koch ke wun chi kuaath’ , I don’t know if that’s the correct spelling in Dinka language.

Mabioor de Garang with Riek Machar, Nairobi

Well ,if you have chosen to continue or go ahead with your pending pleasure, interest and case then that’s fine! but that’s not the reason I chooses to waste my precious time writing this note or article today. I simply writes this to advise you and to represent and show you the facts, truths you have ceased to see or you’ve been ignoring since. You’re against your late father’s(nation’s father) best and longest friend ‘President Kiir Mayardit’.

You called him dictator, illiterate. But you suddenly forgotten that this same man:

a) Was the most loyal and close friend to your father(nation’s father). You and your supporters called him ‘illiterate’ but you have forgotten that this same man did contribute allot to the Paradise you and your boss ‘Riek’ are trying to hijack or rob from him now. He sacrifice his chance of later become literate politician just to obey Late Dr John Garang command or wishes (he didn’t asked to be release to go to school when others who are now literate politicians were released by late Dr John Garang to go to school from front line). And you’re now calling him ‘illiterate’? That sound funny to me.

b)Was he not the same man whom your father (nation’s father) abandoned and sidelined in Yei for two years without contact or update on the CPA peace process? And when he asked late Dr John Garang on how the peace is progressing his words were ignored and manipulated. However, with his good conflict resolution skills and the love, respect he had for late Dr John Garang as a brother they resolved their differences with your father (nation’s father) in Rumbek in 2004 peacefully.

c)Was he not the same man who show or demonstrated his respect, love and loyalty for your father(nation’s father) by employing your mother(nation’s mother)? He appointed her as a minister of road before independence and later appointed her to be his advisor (president advisor) .When other SPLA commanders, soldiers who did  went to front line are struggling with their families. And you’re ungrateful?!

d) A man whose government did not and will never abuse, say bad words to your father(nation’s father)and his entire family. He can grant or give you anything you want anytime because of the loyalty he has for your father (nation’s father) and importantly the achievement of Dr John.

e) A man who has and always ignored your criticism for or toward his leadership. A man who tortured and even sent some mere activists to an early graves just because they criticized his leadership and their fathers are not famous or known in the history of South Sudan.

Mabioor de Garang with Hussien Maar in Addis Ababa, rebels’ delegation

And many more favours he did to your family and you’re comfortably leaving this man for the man who betrayed your father(nation’s father). The man who called your father (nation’s father) a dictator. A man who killed and left nobody on some of your community plot or land. A man whose his current military spokesman is talking bad against late Dr John Garang.

You and your supporters must be saying this to yourselves now: “What’s this boy talking about? Is he drunk or mentally deranged? Someone please take him to a mental hospital. Does he know who I am? Who is his father anyway? Does he really know my father? Does he know that I have a power? Is he aware that I can send him to an early grave. You can even ignore my words and quote this ‘we in a world world were everyone have an opinion’.

And you can take my words seriously and put them into action but its up to you. Am not asking you to stop or leave what you desire but am asking you to redeem yourself because you may regret what you are doing to yourself now later .

Mabiorkääi I believe your father (Late Dr John Garang De Mabior) had a reputation in you, that was the reason he gave you those name, your grandfather name ,in fact his father’s name. Don’t let them go in vain, use them very well. I am surprise to see you in politic at your age. I thought you were still moaning your father. I didn’t even thought you would join rebel like the way you did .

I was expecting you to have put politic aside and think of building yourself and then later join politic because I have never see a politician who is like you

– Who have not even plant himself (get married – you’re not married if am not wrong)
– Who’s still living in his parents house.
– Who doesn’t have buttocks (ang’uem), stomach.

And claim to be a politician, am very surprise of you my dear bro!

Mabiorkääi ‘hurry has no blessing’

Mabiorkääi ‘achin kë ye yök ë tong chi welnhom baai, ee ng’ong ë rot’

Mabiorkääi don’t allow yourself to be Riek’s Oginga Odinga of South Sudan.

Mabiorkääi be a man of your own principles and the greater Bor will be behind you and you will be a leader.

May God Bless You
