Friday, May 10, 2018 (PW) — The Central Bank Governor was relieved and his replacement announced. The expectations are high. The country economy is in ruins and became untenable. The American dollar has become the legal tender in the sense that the rate of the commodities we buy in the market daily are determined by the rise or fall in the dollar exchange rate.

All that we do and the businesses are governed by dollars including the food we eat even at home. You find couples quarreling over expenditures. It is, in essence, not women’s fault. The prices are regulated by the traders at their whim dictate. The Chamber of commerce is non functional.

The Municipality is fond of saying things they don’t see implemented. What they do does not worth its while. The big man needs to pay attention. The businessmen and women union is also not having teeth; what they say does not carry the day. The traders and their collaborators are exploiting the destitute and the impoverished.

Friday, May 11, 2018 (PW) — Proverbs are simple and concrete sayings popularly known and repeated, that expresses a truth based on common sense or experience. They are often metaphorical.

Proverbs fall into the category of formulaic language and form a folklore genre.

Proverb usage is until today associate to astute thinking, wisdom and harmony creation and as a distinctive form of impressive communication.

They following proverbs of King Solomon are advices and instructions that a caring and loving father can gives to his son. “Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.

CEPO: The Kick-off of the IGAD consultation with warring parties

IGAD CONSULTATIONS WITH PARTIES KICK-OFF

Friday,May 11, 2018 (PW) — IGAD Council of Ministers consultations with the South Sudan parties on possibility of gaining compromises for success of next phase of High Level Revitalization Forum that begins from May 10th -12th, 2018 CEPO view the consultation as chance for turning point for either stopping the war or confirming the war as an option for resolving the on-going violence.

The sense from the messaging from each party towards other(s) shows that the consultations will face hard moment of augments for compromises and the sense of rigidity seems to be dominating.

The parties without change of attitudes from focusing on power sharing percentage more than responsibility sharing for forming effective government, the chances for breakthrough for compromise during the IGAD Council of Minister consultations with the parties are very low. (more…)
