Sunday, May 13, 2018 (PW) — We have received reports that the student union in Kenya is influenced by Gen Malong, who is paying them huge money to demonstrate against the Government of South Sudan on Kenyan Soil. But the most interesting part of the story is that most of these students are actually not students, but some school drop outs, with nothing to do.

The developing story is that during their demonstration, they will chant slogans which reflect that South Sudan Government has failed them, that is why they are not in school. They will storm the South Sudanese embassy in Kenya and demand that “Kiir Must Go!”

Well, this is not a knew thing about Gen Malong. You cannot think that he has stayed in Kenya all this time taking medications; he was politicking; and his strategy may or may not take the government by surprise.

Gen Malong Awan Anei, is an elder, a veteran soldier who fought for the independence of South Sudan. His military prowess successfully showed, not during Anya-nya One, but during the time Omar Bashir decided to kill the Dinkas using the Messirya Militia men, who rode on horses.

Sunday, May 13, 2018 (PW) — The dissolution of the SPLM-IO (Taban’s faction) and it’s reunification with the SPLM under Kiir is a big win for the President. The move has lessened the likelihood of a reunification between Taban’s faction and that of Dr. Machar. For the SPLM-IG, this is good.

It is reported that the just concluded SPLM-NLC meeting endorsed a revised Arusha Reunification implementation matrix, however, no further details on what that matrix entails have been made available.

Another resolution called on the NLC members who are outside the country and did not attend the meeting in Juba to attend the next convention, scheduled to take place within 45 days.

The fact remains that it will be particularly difficult to conclude within 45 days (as of May 4th) a genuine reunification in line with the Arusha 2014 agreement.

The SPLM-IO under Machar said they do not recognize the Juba meeting, calling it “a farce… a sham.”

Above all, there’s still a mounting uncertainty over the success of ARCSS HLRF which is key to peace and in turn, a conducive environment for reunification and all other activities.

Sunday, May 10, 2018 (PW) — What most of the malignant misfits failed to understand is that I have started defending comrade Salva Kiir Mayardit by the time he wasn’t Vice President, President or not even Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the SPLM/A.

Who amongst you still remember my positive reaction to the Greater Equatoria Intellectuals and Senior Officers Communique in which they asked the then SPLA Chief of General Staff in person of CDR/ Salva Kiir, and his entire Headquarters to pack their belongings and leave Yei with effect from the release of that unprecedented phenomenal act in the Movement.

The reason of the foiled expulsion from Yei was under influence of regionalism madness that comrade Salva has insulted Equatorians as cowards during SPLA commemoration Day of May 16th, which was not true. But of course the fifthcolumnists insisted to defend the whitewash to smear or tarnish image of the then SPLA-CoGS.

As a result of my firm stand, Dr. John had to order Maj. Amat Malual to look for me after he has read and shared my position with Late Samson Kwaje, Deng Alor and others. When I reported myself that chilly evening during wintertime in Nairobi at Intercontinental Hotel, Late Amat revealed to me the reason Dr. John wanted to seek audience with me.

Sunday, May 13, 2018 (PW) — Addis Ababa (Ethiopia): Building on its prior consultations and efforts to narrow the differences between the parties on the key outstanding Governance and Security issues, the IGAD Council of Ministers (CoM), assisted by the IGAD Special Envoy, has invited to Addis Ababa the Transitional Government of National Unity (TGoNU), the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA), and the Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement/Army-In Opposition (SPLM/A-IO) for Intensive Interlinked Consultations (IIC) in Addis Ababa on May 11, 12 and 13, 2018.

These ongoing consultations are also meant to discuss the outstanding issues identified at the end of the last session of the High Level Revitalizations Forum for South Sudan.

The IIC is an approach meant for a greater degree of candour and vigour than is normally possible in more formal settings, such as plenary. The IIC is not envisaged as an inter-party negotiation session; rather, it is an opportunity to explore potential compromise areas, and to deepen the Facilitation’s understanding of the positions and interests of each party.

The Facilitation is engaging each party on its positions in relation to the outstanding issues in Security and Governance, while encouraging each party to consider the positions advanced by the other parties within the framework of the latest shuttle diplomacy.

In line with the conception of the IIC as a preparatory platform for the upcoming High Level Revitalization Forum, the expected outcomes are:

(a) Participating parties would (have had the opportunity to) review their positions to enhance the possibility of reaching agreement with the other parties and stakeholders to the upcoming HLRF on the outstanding issues;

(b) as appropriate, the participating parties would have engaged each other directly to explore potential areas of consensus;

(c) the Facilitation would have deepened its understanding of the parties’ interests and positions on the outstanding issues ahead of the HLRF; and

(d) the Facilitation would inform its judgement on the most effective processes.

CEPO Remarks: Mr. Edmund Yakani, Executive Director of CEPO says it is great that the conflicting parties of South Sudan demonstrated a sense of ending the violence through dialogue facilitated by IGAD HLRF.

The statement issued by IGAD on the consultations was appreciated although and its little progress was made during the Intensive Interlinked Consultations (IIC) in Addis Ababa on May 11, 12 and 13, 2018. We called on the parties to seriously consider reaching peace deal during the HLRF scheduled for May 17-21, 2018 in Ethiopia.

Any failure on the concrete way forward for stoppage of the non-violence or continuation of the on-going after May 2018 HLRF it means a lot to the human lives of the citizens. It is a time of demonstrating to the citizens that their safety of lives is higher the interest for having political power.

There is absolute necessity of unity for Dinka Bor (Jonglei) if they are to overcome the power of Mundari wrestlers. Then I will look forward – making wrestling better organized and beneficial to the young men.

. Why Jonglei state lost?

Jonglei state team were the reigning champions as they entered final but were not the best team in this tournament.

The #TeamJonglei lost primary because #TeamTerekeke was stronger and well organized. There is no question about that. Jonglei wrestlers were slimmer compared to Terekeke counterparts. Body mass is not strength but it’s necessary if you are to lift someone or being not easily thrown away. Second, Terekeke were not interested on who leads but targeted individuals opponents contrary to Jonglei’s. Finally, there were more younger, energetic Terekeke wrestlers compared to few, aged and weak Opponents from Jonglei. For Jonglei to expect a victory, they should have worked on their unity rather than sending half to face a full squat Mundari.
