Dear Governor,

March 6, 2016 (SSB)  —  We are registering our profound thanks to the President of the Republic of South Sudan, His Excellency, General Salva Kiir Mayardit, for having taken the bold decision to create 28 states out of the defunct 10 states. This has been a popular demand by the people of South Sudan to bring their government closer so that the much needed services are delivered much faster and with sense of accountability.

Duk community in Diaspora is also welcoming the appointment of Philip Aguer Panyang as the new governor of new Jonglei State, and is appreciating him for having accepted the position to serve his people. Also, Duk community in the US is equally thankful to our politicians for their tirelessly efforts in lobbying for our own state.

Finally, we also want to thank the entire community of Jonglei State for welcoming their new governor Mr. Philip Aguer Panyang. We hope that their warm welcome is a good start for the state in term of unity among the three sisterly counties.

South Sudanese Youths should determine their own future and that of the nation-South Sudan; keep off from ‘Lethal Political Ideologies!’

Dinka and Nuer

Dinka and Nuer under one nation, one people

March 6, 2016 (SSB)  —  Having observed, witnessed and experienced the costs of the brutal and meaningless war in South Sudan that sent our beloved people to graves, IDPs’ camps and refugees’ camps; youths have highly paid in dignified silence. Youths are losing their colleagues, friends and age-mates to heartless monster called death and agony of mental pollution from politicians each day and yet they still do not need to define how to approach the mantra!

South Sudan: the new kid within the EAC

March 6, 2016 (SSB)  —  Finally, South Sudan’s quest to formally join the East African Community (EAC) has come to its logical conclusion. In light of the country’s political, security, colonial and blood ties with the region, EAC heads of state’s unanimous acceptance of South Sudan was a fate accompli. This is surely the case within the current circumstance, given the fact that the country’s political, economic and security standing at the time of accession is much worse than at the time when its initial application was technically pended until further notice. But nothing else determined our eligibility more than the fact that we had already been part of the region.

Last week’s formal acceptance of South Sudan is a fate accompli because it was long decided by the British colonialists in their “Southern Policy” which separated the region (Southern Sudan) from Northern Sudan (Khartoum). In consequence to the Milner Report of 1920, the three Governors of the Southern Provinces would not attend the meetings of Governors in Khartoum, but went to meet with their counterparts in East Africa (not yet EAC). In effect, technically speaking, we have had an observer status since then, up to recognition of full membership in 2016.

March 6, 2016 (SSB)  —  God created all human being equally from their mothers wombs until they reached an average ages of ten years. During those years they act as peace makers, lovers and as children of God. Nonetheless, when they bypassed ten years, the Satan starts teaching them devil acts of terrorism, killings, destructions and hatreds in the world.

Their plans are numerous things to cause death to another human being but a Good heart human being could never be happy or wanted any innocent person to die if not the creator plan. However, once terrorist passed on people shouldn’t be hesitated to celebrate his death because of numerous lives he had massacre.

Governor Philip Agwer Panyang

Hon. Philip Agwer Panyang, the new governor of Jonglei State

March 6, 2016 (SSB)  —  The reasons some of us wanted Honorable Philip Aguer to be appointed as a governor is to lead in addressing challenges that are facing the citizens across the state. There are challenges of insecurity, poor performance in education, inadequate health facilities, lack of road networks and lack of economic policies in the state.

Besides, we expect him to build good relation not only with the neighboring states but also other states in the Republic of South Sudan so that our citizens are secured. This doesn’t mean that other leaders cannot perform these tasks, except that one position goes to one candidate at a time. Until now, no one has a tangible ground to judge whether the expectations will be met or not.

South Sudan: the new kid within the EAC

March 6, 2016 (SSB) —- the youngest Nation in the world has at last joined East African Community with big question, ‘’who is who’’ in South Sudan. The decision taken by the leadership of Salva Kiir at this critical time is injustice move against the wills of South Sudanese people. South Sudan as country has been in war by itself for a length of 2 years and half. No peace and stability to run the external and internal state affairs to be best in the interest of majority. East African Community (EAC) is the regional intergovernmental organization of the Republics of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania with its Headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.

Nuer IDPs with their makeshifts in the water

March 6, 2016 (SSB)  — Have you even heard that the people can be become friends when they have common enemy? The enemy of your enemy is your best friend and the same as; the friend of your enemy is also your enemy. Nuer tribe believes that the president Kiir is their enemy and he has personal conflict with Dr Machar in their political party SPLM. His case with Dr Machar is the power struggle within their political party SPLM. But what is his case with Nuer tribe he had killed in 2013?

Governor Philip Aguer of Jonglei state

Governor Philip Aguer of Jonglei state

March 6, 2016 (SSB) —- Sometimes I like to rap or “ropoka” a lot when I decide to go on the internet. However, this time I would like to just get out there a bugging observation in a very brief comment. When Aguer Panyang was appointed governor of Jonglei State, in the eyes of many, he came through as a breath of fresh air. He came around as a well-known figure especially during his arm struggle days. His reception when he set foot in Bor town was a perfect demonstration as to how popular he is or would be among the Jonglei electorates. He appeared to be the perfect man that would handle the ever lingering problems of that massive state.
