March 16, 2016 (SSB)  —-  As we all know, 2013-2015 were years of chaos in South Sudan, and so many good intentions were all affected. After the Sudanese civil war, things started to change a little for people. Now that peace is coming back to South Sudan, the country is once again may begin to grow economically and things are going to be relatively calm for people in certain areas.

However, before the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) was signed, many countries got together in 2000 to form what are now known as Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to address outstanding issues. The signing countries believed these MDGs were the only way to bring people to their senses on social issues. MDGs were intended to address issues within the underdeveloped countries, including what was then a unified Sudan. At this gathering, there were eight concerns that were raised, but I have only selected the few that I believe need urgent attention from South Sudanese.

corruption in Juba

Corruption

The Dinkas and Nuers corrupted the Petronas Malaysian Scholarship, now the Equatorians are having their revenge with the Civil Society Leadership Award (CSLA) Scholarship for 2016/2017. So what is the different between the corrupt government of President Kiir (and Riek) and the enlightened civil societies of South Sudan: ZERO.

The finalist list of the Civil Society Leadership Award (CSLA) Scholarship for 2016/2017. All the awards are for Master Degree level. All that remains for the candidates is the submission of their university acceptance to the OSF team.

Salaries in dramatic decline

March 16, 2016 (SSB)  —-  I have gone step by step reading this touchable article made under the hands of very concern gentleman. However, the writer had proposed peace as the solution but for us in the three states, we have to disarm our marauders youth that have threatened our agricultural activities because if we don’t have peace within ourselves, we cannot have peace with other societies.

Another solution which I have been in loggerheads with most of our youth in open parliaments is that our government from payams and bomas level must introduce a circular that says our crops should not be sold early before we secured enough food to complete a year without experiencing food shortage. Usually our commodities after harvest end in August yearly when we expect another harvest of new crops, so we must make sure we have food until that particular period of time to avoid relying on foreign commodities.

March 16, 2016 (SSB)  —  First and foremost, my dear readers, let me draw your attention to the simplex definition of an economy, “late 15th century (in the sense, ‘means management of material resources’): from French économie, or via Latin from Greek oikonomia ‘household management’, based on oikos ‘house’ + nemein ‘manage” This is the state of a country or a region in terms of production and consumption of goods, services and the supply of money.

Reference to the above definition, economists have tried to use different vocabularies like, “Prudence, providence, thriftiness, frugality, Saving, Scrimping, Canniness, Careful, Good management, Good husbandry and economizing among others, as they push to make the word “economy” more logical, clearer and understandable to many scholars, researchers and managers.

Amb. Mariano Deng

H.E Mariano Deng Ngor addressing South Sudanese University Students at Nairobi Safari club Hotel in July 2015

March 16, 2016 (SSB)  —-  Your Excellency, I learned you have been transferred to the United Republic of Tanzania as an Ambassador and head of mission there. I received the news of your transfer with mix reactions. If I were you or the appointing authority, you could still remain as South Sudan Ambassador in Nairobi Kenya. I know you have done us a lot but there still a lot more we expect you to do for us. As our country prepares to move to phase two of peace, healing and reconciliation, we had planned to put you as patron in some of our upcoming activities geared toward bringing to fruition that goal of uniting and democratizing South Sudan. It is for this reason that we wish you to remain for a while; but if those with final discretion to transfer did not see it the way we anticipated it to be, well and good. It will just be temporary setback for it will be as if we’re starting from the scratch.

March 16, 2016 (SSB)  —  Twi East County currently has five administrative units or payams. It flag has the portrait of one of the most admirable bird species in Africa, the red-crown crane which is locally known as Arialbeek. This bird not only unites the Twi people it also portrays a lot about their behaviour, interrelations and co-relations. The majestic, upright, calm and adorable qualities of this bird are the same qualities exhibit unceasingly by the inhabitants of this area. Twi people are kind, benevolent, somewhat innocent, keen and above all intelligent exactly like Arialbeek.
